pedal advice(5 posts)

I presently use Time ATACs for both mountain and road (cyclo on road). I think they're great, comfy and easy to use, but are a little heavy. What are the advantages of the LOOK system?, do they have a reasonable amount of float?, are they lighter?

Thanks for your help

The Looks weigh in between 340 and 420 grams. Roughly the same that you have now. The Looks will provide less float but still offer some.

Stay with the ATACs if weight is the only problem.

Plus by switching to Looks you'd probably have to swap shoes. Are you using mtb shoes on the road? The recessed set up that ATACs allow is pretty nice for recreational riding, IMO.

well this is it, on my commuter hack I wear mtb shoes which I can wear in the pub or for walking etc, on my nice bike I wear sidi g4s with adapters. Atacs are great for getting around on, but as I get more serious I'm thinking of checking something else out.

Try Speedplay Frogs.

* Much lighter than ATAC
* More float
* Recessed cleats
