Also, if you sign up for the rider club via the pop up box when you hit the Speciailzed site you'll get an e-mail every Thursday and they'll tell you what's new. That's how I found out about the 03. BTW I have not noticed that they are sharing my e-mail with anyone.

Looks puuurty :) i might be interested in one as well...at least now i can look like Mario Cipollini :)

Is this really comparable to the '02 E5 SLX com in terms of weight/performance? it says it has the SLX tubing, but was the E5 better?
Same frame on Cmp & Pro. Pro you get DA, Ksyrium, & Zebra StripsScot_Gore

I love mine. Of course, what else would i say, it sucks?

Honestly, i got mine as a warranty replacement for an M2 that i had for 5 years. Specialized really takes care of their customers and I'm one for life because of the way they took care of me.

Enough of the glad-handing, on with the bike report.

It's a rocket, it is just a bit compliant, and it's TWITCHY. So twitchy that i really don't like going downhills on it. My other point of comparison is an 2002 Bianchi EV2 which is a stable as a house. I found that if I ride the E5 for about a week I get used to it. If I trade off during the week, I crawl down the hills. YMMV

It's very sharp too. My buddy just bought a pegorretti and he now wants to buy an E5.

All in all, it's just about the best/fastest bike I've ever owned. I highly recommend it.

I gotta cut down on the coffee.

i noticed that the comp 27 (matte gray) is actually shown with an 18 speed ultegra group in the pic (even shows it with the shortcage rear der). I wonder if specialized will offer both colors (matte gray and white/black/zebra) on either the comp 18 and 27? i lean towards the less flashy gray thats on the comp 27 but would rather have the 18 speed group. i guess it would be easy enough for the bike shop to switch the stuff around.

Let's see, it's a 56 and I have all Record 9 spd with Proton wheels. I've not weighed it but it is quite a bit lighter than my EV2, which weighs in the low 18lb range.

I can't say enough good things about the bike. You won't be let down.

One thing that I found was that I put a Ritchey WCS seat post on it and the post gives a decent amount of flex, so the bike rides very smooth.
