|Did a 30 mile road ride last nite...very shortly into it, and continuing the whole ride, my legs would burn and fatigue with any real hammering...I think it would be called lactic acid burn...What do I do? I have another ride tomorrow nite and two more rides over the weekend (three days away).
I usually ride 4 days a week...couple on the road, couple in the woods...I did nothing more than normal this past week...but the pain stopped me short and put me waaaay back in the pack...

|Give it a rest, hang in the pack if you can and get a free ride or ride by yourself. If your legs are burning it seems obvious that they need some recovery, but could also mean that you are coming down with some kind of illness. I can't raise my HR very high at all if I am overtrained or have a cold.
If in doubt, leave it out. It's better to be undertrained than over trained.
...Either that or you just need to toughen up!

|then you're used to? Less often? What's changed?
Also . . . you should be reloading your carbs as you ride and immediately after (w/in a half hour of getting off the bike). This applies more to longer rides, but what you're describing reminds me of how I felt after my last century. I got off the bike, threw it in the van, drove home, and went for a swim. I didn't eat anything until that evening (3 hours later).
Next morning I went for a 20 mile ride with some friends and my quads were burning within 10 minutes.
If this keeps up with your next ride, get off the damn bike and take a rest.
