it runs fine but sometimes makes an awful crack as if the chain wasnt in the right place then quickly gets snapped back when I apply pressure. Its a new campy ten speed chain with a connex link and new rings. Ive noticed the rings spin in a slight eliptical(think thats the word) circle, minor but maybe part of the problem. Not realy a problem but it sounds awful, as if something is going to snap.

Would that be a wise crack? Seriously, squat by the bike on the drive side and slowly turn the cranks backwards and observe the chain where it comes of the bottom pulley. Make sure the chain comes straight off the pulley with no bend up or down. This would indicate a tite link. Sometimes Campy pawls in the freewheel are not engaged properly and slip to the next tooth. I have had a similar noise several times and that is what I think it is. I have examined the pawls, springs and the ratchet teeth and have found no damage so I have quit worrying about it.
