Does anyone have any handy hints for removing chain grease and tyre scuff marks from carpet?

These are the problems you have when you live in a unit and don't have a garage.

I live in a rented, carpeted London flat which is inspected quarterly by the property management company. It has an off-white carpet!!

I use a lemon based spray carpet cleaner which works quite well. I haven't tried any of the dedicated citrus based bike cleaners but imagine they would work fine.

I have used this product to remove ground in black shoe polish from carpet, coffee stains from light colored auto seats, etc. Spray a test area, let the stuff work/soak for about 3 mins, and dab at it with a wet cloth.

I have yet to find a carpet fiber that MEK (one of the hottest solvents out there) will dissolve. It dissolves about every thing else though. Try a test area just to be sure.

Good Luck,
