My club and I are starting a ride for REAL beginners. I'm talking haven't gotten on a bike since the Huffy they owned when they were ten. We are trying to bring in more women, significant others, neighbors, etc. You know, the people that ask you about riding, and touch your bike when you arn't looking, but are too afraid to join in on a normal group ride.

I began thinking back to when I started riding and realized that the most intimidateing thing about cyclists wasn't the nice bikes, or the hard bodies. The most intimidateing thing about cyclists was my inability to understand anything they were talking about. Every sentance they said was filled with incomprehensible jargon.

Having said that, I am putting together a dictionary of cycling terms for my newbies.

Any suggestions?

I'll start.....
