saddle help please!(2 posts)

saddle help please!just starting out
Jul 25, 2002 11:15 AM
I just purchased a new flite gel saddle. I've got an older model that I've ridden on for 2 years and love. Problem: the leather on the new one is not slick -- it's actually sort of sticky. Anytime I get out of the saddle and then sit back down, it catches my shorts and causes some friction, etc. Not pleasant. Any ideas for smoothing out the leather and making it less "grippy"?

I don't have any specific info...but I do know that baseball players who want their mits to be more tougher and "conditioned" use certain oils on the catching surface of the mit and therefore the leather surface ends up smooth and "coated" as opposed to raw leather...ask your softball player buddies.
