problem with wheelskomatiite

is it possible to have a spoke break from getting too hot while being in the car? this sounds ridiculous, i know, but i went on a 50 mile ride sunday. packed my bike in theh car and there it has sat since. now, when i was one the ride, i clearly would have noticed something like a spoke breaking, albeit wiping out. so, upon the bikes entry into the hatch [95 civic ex], the wheel was fine. i take it out today [neglected i know] and the darn thing was broke!

Heat had nothing to do with it if the car is ok. No melted plastic?????? The spoke just broke.

i realize that the spoke merely broke. and i didnt figure that heat would have anything to do with it. what i dont get it how i rode 50 miles and nothing. ive been having problems with the spoke that couldnt for a while. now that its snapped, the entire rim is WAY outta true; something i think i wouldve noticed at 40+/- mph.

Did you hear what sounded like a rock hitting a spoke, if so, that was the spoke breaking. I have had a spoke break 100 yards from the end of the ride and only noticed the sound. Never felt a thing.
