|Not worth the time argueing with the writer. They have to write some trash about somebody, so it must be very slow in Pittsburg if all he can write about is about cyclist.
He doesn't have all the facts correct about how our highway money is divided. I work for penndot and we make CDL vehicles pay 3 times the cost for vehicle registration. They also get picked on the most by cops; for example roadside inspections.
The writer doesn't know too much about how penndot gets funds from the federal government based on others have right away on our highways. Bicycles are not allowed on interstates, but does he think the law should say only back roads?
The columist has to write something. We got blasted yesterday about a SSN fraud problem we have at penndot. The newspaper doesn't have all the facts and made it sound like penndot has major computer problems with customers SSN.
The truth is that my user are allowed to override people SSN even when my program tells them there's a match. We got burned by the auditor general the pass two years about it, but upper management never made a change. I'm making the change this month.
The numbers where 30,000 people out of 14 million customers. They round there facts to say it was 30,000 out of 1 million, to make it sound bad.
So the patriot news writes this article to say that Penndot is a reason why people have fraud problems with others using their SSN. They have to write something to sale the paper, so some articles make get great feedback, even if its negative.
I hope you see my point. Kind of like news reporters at a car accident. I always hated reporters when I was a volunteer fireman and they wanted information about a fire or accident. They like to get any information to twist to make it sound more dramatic.
I was going to write the columist, but figured that's what he wants from posting the article. Not worth the issue of arguing with him.
Just my 2 cents.
