I bruised the soft tissue under my patella in a mountain biking accident and haven't been able to run or cycle for three weeks. My doctor wants me to rest it for another week to two weeks before I start back. He does work with athlete's and I trust his opinion. I get to look at my bikes but it's a no touch me situation. I miss my bike!
so wash, lube and love it!! nmstik__boy

There is nothing quite like hiting the pavement at 25+ MPH and having about 60 bikes run over me in a road race last weekend. I was actually thinking of starting up off road again. The dirt seems nice and soft compared to the pavement.

Those little injuries to the back of your kneecap contribute to arthritis when you reach my age.

One-legged pedaling may be your fix.Quack

I've had the privilege in my life to take one whole year of fitness training from an exercise physiologist and the weirdest thing that I remember him showing us was research indicating that you can partially rehabilitate an injured muscle/bone/ligament/tendon by exercising its opposing twin. If you break your right arm, work out using the left and the right will actually see some gain from this.

I would say pop in the best motivating movie you've got into the VCR, jump on the trainer, and one-legged pedal. Or if you don't mind looking funny, do it on the road. Your spin will improve, and you may actually heal that kneecap quicker.
Great idea (although the source may be somewhat suspect) :)AllisonHayes

Quack? (just kidding)

I can't believe the number of infirmed who posted here:

Juanmoretime - injured patella (he didn't kneed that at all)

LC - face plant + run over by entire peloton (isn't there a law about hit & run cyclists?)

QUiTSPiNiNArOuND - broken arm - (cast him in the next "Breaking Away" movie)

Chen2 - arthritis - (sage advice from the geriatric crowd )

Quack - anyone kneed a solution (if you believe in quacks that is)
you forgotweiwentg

weiwentg - broken right collarbone

lonfrontranger - another broken right collarbone

Man can I relate to your frustration! I had broken my arm and jaw the last week in June. It's tough when your used to being active grrrr
I've ran with the cast a few times but that hurts too. and sittin on a windtrainer on a hot summer day is a drag....
