I know I've been looking to buy a new bike - but I found this while scanning the classifieds. Tell me what you think.

Is it the right sizefor you?OffTheBack

I'm 6'4" 260 lbs. with an 89 cm inseem. Should be very very close. How does Lemond mesure there sizes? C - C or C - Top?

Lemonds are measured C to C...OffTheBack

... and have longish top tubes. You can view the complete frame geometry at

IMHO, if it's the right size for you, I would say it's a good deal. It doesn't have the latest stuff (10 spd cassette, threadless headset) but the frame and parts are much higher quality than anything new you could get at that price.

I hope it's not an ethical violation to comment on someone else's classified ad being a "good deal" or not... flame away if it is.

Peace and good riding.

So it's a C to C measured bike then it's really a 65cm bike. or he's taking in compensation that most measure from C to Top and it's really a 61cm bike?!?!?

hrmmmmmmmm that makes it tough

The only reason I've been looking trough the classifieds is - I'm afraid I won't get a good bike by buying new. I was going to set aside a $3000 budget to buy a new Complete bike - but I'm having a hard time picking a winner in that department.

Sorry for the triple post - I don't know what happened.nmmagnum

Take care with the long top tube. It will require a flexible rider. IMHO.
