Road Kill Report(4 posts)

Road Kill ReportOffTheBack

Just got back from today's ride, 35 miles along the Allegheny river outside Pittsburgh. Perfect day, 84 degrees, slight breeze, sunny, not too humid. However, the road kill count seemed a little higher than average. I rode past:

3 possums
1 raccoon
2 squirrels
1 mouse
1 small bird

... and that's not counting anything already reduced to an unidentifiable mass or a mere pavement stain. That's one critter per 4.4 miles... is that a bit high?

They seem to be getting picked off at an alarming rate.
The animals are all offin' themselves due to global warming. nmMike P
