Does anyone know what kind of rims/wheels Jalabert was using. I know he was on a Look frameset but did not recognize the wheelset - at the very least the "looked" really cool.

Looked like a pair of Shimano Dura-Ace WH7700 Carbons.

jalabert was using a set of ada wheels, very similar to lance wheels who are lightweight(brandname)

Thanks for all of the help, I found the price in Euro's at 2950. Roughly, $2600. I don't think I will be ordering them anytime too soon.

And at current exchange rates, it would be $2,967.

Had you the foresight to have purchased them a year ago, it would have been more like $2,478.

That's how much the dollar has weakened this year...

I would hardly call it abuse. The dollar has been devaluated for some time now. Think of it as a sort of helping hand :-)

The ADA's (or the Lightweights that Lance used) start at about 950 grams, are custom made for each order, and I think the riders take a financial penalty from their wheel sponsors to use them, on top of having to pay for them. Climbing wheels only... Cost an arm and a leg... and a few fingers and toes...
