Ok, this may sound like a rant (I think I need to vent!) but has anyone else from the USA ordered from Saddlesore in Preston, England? I'm curious to know how long it took after you placed your order, to receive it.

On June 16 I placed an order for a stem and a pair of tires. (I ordered from them because they have a color combination of a stem that isn't available over here. It's a Cinelli Frog quill stem in Silver with a Black faceplate. They also sell the more common Black/Silver.)

Anyway, on June 17 I got an email confirming the order was received and was being processed. Now it's over a month later and that was the last I've heard from them.

After a couple weeks, I emailed the sales dept. to ask the status of my order (referencing the order #) and asked them if they would at least confirm that it had been shipped. No reply.

Last week I emailed them again and got no reply.

I got my credit card bill this week and saw that they charged me for the order around June 17.

So I emailed them again early this week and still have not heard a peep from them. I was polite, succinct, and professional in all my messages. I can't understand how they can just ignore their customers while not delivering the goods. I know some shipping methods are slower than others, but this seems strange. I'm on the east coast of the US, but I think 4 1/2+ weeks is a bit long to wait for a shipment with no communication from a company.

I'm inclined to call them but I don't know what the time difference is and I don't want to get caught making an international call during business hours at work ($$$).

Am I an exception or have any of you had the same experience with this company?

Sorry for the long post!
Never Dealt With Them, But I'd Call The Credit Card Company....Gregory Taylor

...and dispute the charge. Right now, that's probably your best protection. Explain to Visa or MasterCard what happened, and they will contact the merchant.

I had a great experience with them about a year ago. You should call them as I do not believe they check email regularly. England is 5 hours ahead of the East coast. Something must have gone wrong with your order/shipment. I received my pair of Kysriums within 2 weeks. They went out of their way to get me a set of Campy compatible hubs from their distributor at a time when it was impossible to get them stateside. Good luck.

About a month ago, I ordered up a Campy component and an expendable item from in England. My card was charged immediately for the merchandise. After waiting two weeks, I repeatedly emailed them on the status of my order. I received no response ( about a week of emails ). I then ordered up the component from a US vendor.

About 10 days from my orginal request for status, I received an email from saddlesore stating that they were delayed on this Campy item but have shipped my order complete. The did state that they would gladly accept the item on return and credit me some additional US dollars to cover the inconvenience ( sounded very fair!!) A few days later, the order from saddlesore was delivered.

The one sidebar to this whole story is that IF they had emailed promptly, I would have been glad to wait. Up to that point, I had no ida as to whether or not they would ever ship the item.

For the last two weeks, I have been emailing them to request instructions on where/how to return my item. They have not replied to date.

Bottom line is - I got the merchandise ( but it was weeks later) . Additionally, they do not respond to emails.

I have the same problem. I ordered a wheelset a month ago. my credit card was promptly charged, yet I have not received my wheels.

All emails I sent have not been responded to. Calling is useless because the phone only rings and rings (I make sure that with the time difference, I'm calling during their alleged business hours).

I'm disputing the charges with my credit card company, though what I really want is my wheels. What a hassle.

All I can say is if you are thinking of ordering from, DON'T!! There are other european vendors with similar products and prices, and they aren't nearly as unprofessional as saddlesore.
