|What are the people at Lincoln thinking by targeting that environment wrecker at cyclists, of all people? I am so sick of the music from those ads, and everytime I see that guy playing the bass I want to reach into the tv and push him out the window of that apartment. Sorry, I'm getting carried away, but the constant repetition is maddening.|

|One does assume that companies like Ford don't piss their ad dollars down the drain without doing some research regarding the demographics of the target audience. Lincoln SUV this year, Mercury SUV last year - what does that tell you about cycling racing audiences as a whole?
Maybe that most of us don't see this little past time of ours as a political statement?
Not too many Civic Hybrid and Jetta TDI commercials aimed at "us" the "environmentally aware" cyclists. Good.

|Companies like Ford are utterly oblivious to the sentiments of the "majority" of cyclists out there. Not like their marketing people have ever been involved with the sponsorship of professional cycling teams, sponsorship of events or anything else of the sort.
And, no, I don't own an SUV - I just hate that very wide brush people like to use.

|$50K plus, something most of the cycliest can't afford. But they are pumping a butt load of cash in to bring you the last 30 minutes of none stop cycling coverage. Get a clue

|Why, do you wonder, that you never see any adds for Campy, Shimano, Mavic, Conti, Selle Italia, yada, yada, yada. I rant and rave about cycling to everyone who knows me. They all know I ride. Everyone at work knows I ride and I always rant about the sport and the big races. I get people who have not ridden a bike for decades to watch OLN and it's cycling coverage.
Gosh, do you think others might do the same???

|My wife works for the local cable company and they do not select the commercials. The Post Office needs to submit more than just one commercial. At least Lincoln has 3.

|In my area there have been advertisements for several local businesses. I have made it a point to call them and thank them for supporting cycling in our community. They seemed to be pleased to hear that people are paying attention.|

|I was watching an episode of Geraldo a few years ago where they were talking about a Wood Chipper Murder in Connecticut. Then when they went to a commercial break they had a commercial for the DR Chipper Shredder. THis was even better than the time Oprah had an expert on Sexual Disorders on her show. The guys name was Dr. Jack Kauf. Luckily I was not unemployed for too long and no longer get to see Day Time TV.
That RunawayShoes.COM commercial was pretty lame last year. Unless it is a big network like ESPN or TNN, you usually get pretty lame ones of basic cable.

|How about the 20 minutes of commercials for the Louis Vuitton Cup or Everest Extreme.
I guess we all better thank Lincoln for their support because without it I don't know how OLN would be paying for the coverage...surely not with their own ads.
But seriously, raise your hand if you own one of these things or are thinking about buying one. What demographics are OLN feeding advertisers about tour viewers?

|God Bless the "30 minutes w/out commercials", but I totally agree that, who the H_LL needs a car that can keep rhythm with a jazz band..????....and YES...the Mountaineer was all the security you ever needed in a building or a bank....I don't know what they were thinking then....Now, give me the Mitsubishi commercials...."Wish I knew then, what I know now.....when I was younger,......"
