Campy vs. ShimanoAC55

Ive got a colnago mxl and I would like some recomendations to which groupo to get Record vs. DuraAce or Chorus vs. DuraAce. I've bin told that putting Shimano on an Italian frame is sacralige so I'm kinda leaning to Record but as you all know it's a lot of coin. Also what size bb should I get and is their a difference between the two ? Thank you in advance hope to here from someone because I know this question must have bin asked before.

I just ordered a Master XL and went mostly with Chorus with a few Record bits. My decision was partly irrational (Italian bike needs Italian parts), but mostly based on logical reasons (Campy is supposed to last longer, parts can be repaired, and (most importantly) I preferred the fit and feel of the Campy levers/hoods over the Shimano). In the end it's your money, if Shimano is good enough for the guys riding in Le Tour it's good enough for me and (I'm betting) good enough for you too. Go with what feels best to you and what you prefer (whatever your preference may be based on), then ride and enjoy it.
it just wouldn't be july without a post with this subject line..JS Haiku Shop

I'm definitely a Campy guy (I've got Chorus on my 'Nago Dream), but as HRS notes, both of the TdF teams that ride Colnagos are using Shimano. In other words, do what you wanna do. Feel free to tow the line. Feel free to blaspheme.
