Advice on Eclipse Titanium(1 post)

Advice on Eclipse Titaniumalien8

Hi,

I am a newby about to buy his first road bike. I'm in Canada and I am seriously considering buying an Eclipse Titanium road bike from Pecco's in Ottawa ( http://www.peccos.com ). I'm wondering if any one out there has any experience with the Eclipse Ti frames, or Pecco's in general. I know this isn't a Canadian board, but I'm guessing a few Canadians visit it.

The bike is going for $1999.99 CAD, or about $1333 USD for a partial 105 set up (shifters and derailleurs), tektro brakes, FSA Gossamer crank. A lot of the other components and the rims are from a company called Atomic, which I'm not familiar with.

The frame itself is made in Russia. It features oversized aero tubing, and curved (hourglass-ish), polished seat stays. The are using LeMonde geometry.

My idea in getting a Ti frame is that it will be very durable yet lighter than steel, thereby making this a sound, albeit large investment. The frame itself weighs in at 3 -3.3 lbs.

So I'm hoping I can get some feedback from people even if they are not familiar with Pecco's or their Eclipse line of bikes.

Thanks,
Sean
