Together my new roomate and I have 5 bikes, and very little space to put them. We would not like to keep them outside, and most of the commercial racks hold a max of 4 bikes. We need a storage solution. What can we use that will safely hold 5 bikes in a limited amount of space? I will build something if neccessary.

seriously though, I know your pain!

If you have wall space, you can create a vertical rack to hang the bikes by the wheel. You can buy those screw-in hooks at any hardware store. If you alternate the hanging pattern (front wheel hang/back wheel hang)you can minimize the wall space taken up.

Putting together a frame with 2x4's is fairly simple, or you could get fancy with aluminum tubing and 'key' clamps.

would you like a drawing? i could fax one....

Try 3 guys eleven bikes. I chose the triathlete method hung a metal closet rod about 8 inches from the ceiling and then just hung the nose of the seat over it. works great. Just a thought
