Anyone picked up a EPX 303 yet?cyclejim

Been reading a lot about them on this forum and a few other places, but have yet to find anyone who actually purchased one yet. They are generating a lot of interest it seems. I did send an email to a team who is sponsored by EPX and rides the 303 and here is what the guy had to say about them.

quote "The EPX 303 rides much like a Trek, except I think the gussets make it a little stiffer and better at climbing and sprinting. A slightly longer wheel base gives it a reassuring feeling in the corners, and makes it a comfortable bike to ride for long periods of time. My 62CM frame with DuraAce and Ksyrium SL wheels is about 19 lbs"

Of course, he may be biased so take that for what its worth, I appreciated the fact that he responded to give me some input. The only other person I have heard of that had one was from a post here, second hand info that a cat 2 racer friend owned one and seemed to like it quite a bit. Ive also heard that the frame is of course made in Taiwan (not that theres anything wrong with that) and is of supposedly high quality. Supergo and Pricepoint now both have the 303 Tiagra spec bike for $749. Quite a deal it seems! Im thinking of getting one as a second bike.

I just purchased one. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I am not a guru, I ride for fun and do not race.

I have only 10 miles on it so far, and very happy with it.

From my research there will be the new model.

I now that have logged some miles on my EPX 303. I do like it more and more. First what I have changed. I did not like the shifting quaility compared to my s-works. I replaced all the cables, big improvement. I replaced the shifters and derailers to 105.....this is more a personal preference. The Tiagra stuff feels cheap and I had the 105's laying around. Syncros seat post, again laying around and cut a weight a little and it is black. I also changed wheelsets to Rolf vectors off my KHS steel bike. KHS is now a rain/beater bike. Finally I went to wider bars 46cm with a shorter drop.

Hope this helps.
