Jaja, TT, ...Cerveloelviento

Just wondering what the tour did for this brand. Jaja took Tyler's bike because he liked it, but them it was a pain in the a55 for a wheel change, which cost Jaja 20+ places on the GC.
It didn't look good when JaJa threw it at the car..Dave Hickey

I'm not blaming JaJa, it was pure frustration. When he did it, I said to myself "I wonder what Cervelo is thinking now?"

I'm sure Cervelo wasn't too concerned — especially since most people think it's a LOOK TT bike even though that rounded seat stay gives it away to those who have seen a Cervelo and know LOOK has never made anything close to that with those radical lines. I think Ja Ja threw it because he was pissed that the mechanic didn't just give him the backup (LOOK) bike as soon as getting the disc off became a problem. I like JaJa and feel sorry that he's been snakebitten this Tour. I really wanted him to take the yellow jersey at the TTT if USPS didn't win it. And he would have if not for the unfortunate flat of a teammate. CSC was FLYING. Since Jalabert was KOM of last year's tour, maybe he can make up some time in the mountains and maybe even take a stage. He's great for cycling because he doesn't give up.
He should've thrown it at the mechanic...hayaku

If he can't change a horizontal dropout. Is he on the tour for work experience or what? They both should've planned for such an event.

I'll be interested to see if he's riding the Cervelo in the next TT.

They didn't take the time to get to know it before the TT, but they sure did during! Damn.... As TJ mentioned, he is pure class.

There are some that dig into Klein due to his rear facing dropouts. I don't even think a change is slower if you know what you're dealing with. I've had Kleins for years.

Cervelo must be bummed. For the masses and unknowing public, it looked like the bike is crap. For the small numbers who are knowledgeable, no big deal.

As a relative newcomer to following the pros, I can comment on what the "unknowing public" might have thought about Jalabert's Cycle toss, and to me it just looked like frustration over having a problem and not getting quick enough response from his support team. I didn't even realize that the bikes were different.
Bottom line, I didn't view his reaction as a slam against his bike, but as frustration over having a bad luck.
