I must say I agree with you. I understand the importance of the symbol and ritual of flag worship for some Americans in recent times but I am a little sick of flags for profit or flags laying in the gutter of the road. I remember a redneck in Boulder, Colorado trying to kick the crap out of me for wearing a shirt with stars and stripes on it back in 1968. "Boy get your long hair off of my flag!!" I guess things have come full circle. Most of the rednecks have long hair and wear the flags on their ugly duds.

So if it's now O.K. to wear the flag now days could someone please design some attractive jerseys to display them on. The only two flag type jerseys I have seen that I can stand are the old Brooklyn gum jersey and the national champ jersey. I also kind of like the U.S.A Cycling Federation jersey.
