|Kiddie trailer question...||bigdave|

Just got a Burley d'Lite trailer for the little guy... strapped his car seat into it and he loves it. Totally relaxed, even slept a good portion of the two rides we've been on with him.
But we've ridden on rail trails with him and it's been real dry lately. The first ride seemed ok, but yesterday, well, when we took him out we totally cracked up. He was *covered* in this fine, talcum-like gravel dust! :-) It was in his hair, on his face, on his arms.
We had the cover down on the front of the trailer, with just the mesh (not the plastic cover) so he'd get some good ventilation. Now, the mesh kept the bugs (big blackflies that left welts all over my wife) and pieces of gravel out, but it didn't keep the fine stuff out.
Anyone have any ideas as to how to keep him a little cleaner?
FWIW, I like the rail trails because of the lack of auto traffic. I am using a GT MTB to pull him, and it doesn't have fenders. Would full fenders help with gravel dust?

|I wonder a little about the ride on those things shaking little heads. |
Talk to your pediatrician. I'm nosing in where you didn't ask me to go, I realize, but it's something I didn't think about until I read some stuff.
