|Just purchased a set of slightly used X-2's...new cleats...no directions...I assume I set them so the spindle intersects the ball of my foot, but there are "left right"slots to allow the shoe to be closer or further from the crank...How do I know where to set the cleat? Please assume I know nothing, and work foward from there....PS..Sidi shoes.|

|You will notice a line in the cleat which is exactly the middle. That linenlines up with the center of the pedal axle, yes you line that up with the ball of your foot. The back and forth slots are adjustable q angle. I set my feet close to the cranks, this adjustment you will have to play with to find out where your comfortable, It would probably be best to start in the middle and adjust from there.|

|Even more critical is proper shimming of the bottom of the cleat to match the curvature of the shoe. If the base of the cleat isn't flat after it's bolted to the shoe, the cleat won't work correctly. You really should get a copy of the instructions.
I looked at their website, speedplay.com, but found only maintenance info. Maybe the info is there somewhere.
