I rode the course backwards today from Beaver Creek to Downtown Denver and there were crews doing a lot of work to get things ready. There is new pavement on 1-70 (you all knew, of course) but there are a couple of places in Georgetown where crews are patching and there is a 100m gap in Copper Mountain that is gravel and dirt and a sign saying "cyclists dismount." Other than that it all looks good. I will be riding it from my house near downtown Denver so that my wife can get a 35 mile head start. We have a little bet going. Have fun and be safe.
We salute you ;-)js5280

Hey Sherpa23, I may need to borrow your lungs or legs someday. Everyone have a great ride this weekend!

as a training ride TBP prep two weeks ago, and that dirt stretch in the construction area of Copper was totally fine to ride over. I'm surprised they want folks off their bikes, unless it has gotten worse since then.

You are riding from downtown Denver? Seriously? Yowza! It will be all I can do to drag my a$$ to Avon from Bergen Park.
