|Supposed to be thunder storms over the weekend in the Tahoe area. Stage could be set for one of those awful years where you get hail on the passes and lots of DNFs. |
We're going up, but didn't enter - going to do our own ride and maybe poach a popsicle off the top of Carson ;-)

|If it's hot out, I'd avoid their Cytomax. Last year, they had it mixed up too strongly; it gave me stomach cramps and got me dehydrated; not a good thing.
Jul 11, 2002 12:50 PM
|The year before it made a lot of people puke.|
Jul 11, 2002 12:58 PM
|I think puking would have been better. :-)
BTW, you coming over for Kaiser?

|I'll post the recipe in a new topic.
Am going to Markleeville. The weather in that area turned into t-storms and wind today, hope it all calms down and the temps let up for Saturday.
Have a nice weekend,

|It can very very dry at altitude. Be sure to drink plenty of water the night before and maybe even several times during the night if you wake up. Otherwise, you'll start the ride dehydrated.

|Rode 70 miles yesterday in Sacramento...||BradJackson|
Jul 11, 2002 1:54 PM
|I commuted into work in the morning, got on the road at 5 am, it was super nice. Got off work at 3 pm, had to get home, by mile 2 my solid ice drinks were not only thawed, but warm. My tires seemed to stick to the asphalt, my average MPH was around 16 :( I had to stop about every 5-6 miles to just pour water on my head and refill my water bottles. It wasn't too bad, but stopping for red lights/stop signs just made it worse. I'm not looking too forward to the Death Ride this year, but hopefully I will be finished by noon, be careful out there everyone.

|Its winter here. Today was -7 degrees C. I don't know what that is in farenheit. I had on thermals and 3 layers, gloves, headband, overshoes and the works. It was frosty white everywhere. brrrr! Only about 3 more months of this to look forward to.|
