| Race Types and Characteristics | jtkirk15 Jul 10, 2002 5:45 AM | | I've been cycling only a month but I was wondering what type of race options I have to train for next year. I know of crits, road races and TT's. Anything else? What are the characteristics of these races in terms of speed and course variation. Right now I suck, and I mean suck, at hills, but on flats I'm decent. I'd like to attempt racing next spring in whatever type of race is best suited for me. At the same time I plan on improving my climbing ability. Thanks for your advice. |

You'll climb the learning curve much faster than you otherwise would asking questions on a forum. Find teh team now, as many of them are doing "meet the team" rides this time of year in preparation for the off-season base building phase. Also, you'll only find out which type of event you're suited toward by doing a lot of all of them. |
