|If anyone has any info wrt the following I would appreciate your feedback.
After riding at least 50 - 60 miles (average 20mph - some hills) on days that are pretty hot (low 90's) when I try to take a deep breath I cough. Thus, I cannot take a deep breath and the ride is over.
This might just be an air quality thing. It really only happens when I am cycling during the mid-day hours.
However, I just wanted to check to see if anyone had the same problem and found it was due to something else: diet, cramps, whatever.

|sounds like an 'air quality thing', especially at midday when ozone and co2 levels are at their highest.
This is sometimes called 'sport induced asthma'. If you do not experience asthmatic symptoms otherwise, it is best to avoid exercising during bad air/bad heat and humidity.

|In my neck of the woods, we essentially have no air quality problems, but I occasionally experience this on very hot days on long rides. I don't know the reason for it - I just chalk it up to "lung fatigue" and it seems to decrease as the season progresses.|
|yes, sport induced asthma! same for me (nm)||zeke|
