When did Cannondale introduce their CAAD frames?Tele_Pathic

Hi ho. I'm trying to date a used Cannondale here. In what year did Cannondale phase out the 2.8 frames and introduce the CAAD series? I was under the impression the 2.8's came first, then the 3.0 (Criterium & Black Lighting series), then what? Thanks.

... I used to know this stuff... but my mind is slipping and I'm too lazy to find my old 'Dale catalogs...

I've got a couple of 2.8s and they indeed did lead to the CAAD series... but I honestly can't remember if the 3.0 came before, at the same time or after... but I suspect that it's in the '94/'95 range...

Also, if you've got the frames in question, the year of manufacture is encoded in the serial number (again, I used to know how to read it... but have forgotten). An email to Cannondale might give you some specifics.

We abide.

I have a 1989 3.0 frame which I purchased new in 1989. The 2.8 frame series came after (1991?) the 3.0 series. My Road Silk CAAD 3 frame dates from 1998---but the road silk frame models different from the regular road models.
