Look ?!? thinking out loud...legs

What assumptions do you make about Tyler riding a Parlee during mountain stages of the Giro and Jaja riding that Cervelo? Do you think that is a reflection on Look or just a matter of personal preference?

I dont think it makes Look frames 'bad" by any measure but...
it isnt the message I would want as a consumer...

Look claims (rightfully so) that more riders in the peleton are riding looks than any other maker...
I can think of three teams off the top of my head..
but if i were buying a Look i would be really curious about Parlee...
would you?
I wonder what else is popular under the paint this year?
All those years with Mario on a repainted DeRosa.. etc....

... the higher up you are in the food chain, the more likely you can get whatever you want... as long as it's rebranded... Sidi used to do the same for shoes... relabelling them with whatever the team's sponsorships required... but you could still tell they were Sidis (sometimes with only the sponsor's overboot barely covering the Sidi logos). You see it most often in wheels...

I wonder just how much of Trek's Time Machine was direct input from Lance vs a product manager (no more of them rebadged Litespeeds for a TdF winner)? At this level of competition, I suspect that the elite will look for whatever advantage they can get... and the Cervelo P3 is certainly one of the most aerodynamic UCI legal frames on the planet.

about his equipment:

CN: Will you guys be testing any new equipment during the Tour - frames, wheels, any super light bits and pieces? How do you find the Look carbon bikes compared to your previous years spent on a Trek OCLV? Is a bike just a bike for you, or are you very particular about your setup and choice of equipment, like your wheels?

TH: The Look bikes are great. This is the first year I've had a custom built frame for racing - they have also designed special climbing bikes for the team as well. In general, the frames are really stiff and light, which is great, because I was used to a lot of stiffness from the Trek OCLVs. Each company makes super equipment - I've been fortunate to ride both during my pro career.

I just got the new excel catalog and it has the weight of frame and fork or the weight of just the frame, and they are really heavy. Unless all the other companies are bullshiting us, which I'm sure they are, but still those numbers were heavy for such a price.

I wouldn't be able to say that a Look frame is a heavy frame without laughing at myself... (i am not a weenie)
I think anything under 20lbs is light.. and that anything under 17lbs is super light...but that's my personal scale..(of real world ridable not crapping myself on a descent wondering if somethng is gonna fail)..
and I have no crtitcisms of them.. mostly because I have never ridden one..
and yeah.. i think they are guilty of being honest..
and i think a lighter climbing bike for a lighter rider makes total sense .. especially ina grand tour...

hell.. my everyday bike is 16.5 lbs.... this seems so crazy...
remember when 20lbs was mind boggling...?
