I went our this morning to do a few laps and caught them picking up the "Bike Race In Progress" signs... I missed it and would have really liked to have seen it. What race was it? How can I findout when the next race in Central Park will be?

They are CRCA sponsored races.

Next year I will join that club. :-) I would love to know how fast they climb that hill. I can do 20 mph (53 x 18) on that hill with 99% to 100% of my LTHR. I would love to know at what point in the park those guys would attack.

The race was the Lou Maltese race... very famous with a good turnout. A couple of my teammates did it and said the pace was fast and furious. While I have never looked down at the computer on the hill, the average pace today in the cat 4's was 26mph around the 6 mile loop for a 24 mile race.

Yup, Lou Meltese Memorial, one of two open races CRCA holds annually. I had 25.1mph average on my computer.
There were 100 people in the 4/5 and 100 people in 1/2/3, I have never raced in such a big pack, and I found I had a major difficulty moving up the field, yeah the pace really is high.
I saw a Team Navigator guy in the race, and he was pipped on the line by a local rider.
I also heard that there was a junior rider who caught both the Masters and the 1/2/3 fields, absolutely amazing..

With the CAT1/2/3 riders, no wonder the pace is high.
