|Hi there... stumbled on this site as I was trying to find some good guides for a road bike. I currently mountain bike, but I want to get into road biking (and eventually do the Seattle - Portland race/marathon). Any advice on picking up a new bike would be great!
The bike needs to be:
1) Not really expensive (college student here)
2) Smaller (I'm a whopping 5'2)
3) Rain friendly ( I do live in the Pacific Northwest)
Any help would be great...

|You can see my other post on this topic up above...basically, my advice is to keep in mind you won't be a beginner for long. After you get experienced with the riding, you are not a beginner anymore. You can do more things, you are more knowledgeable, you'll be able to ride faster and longer. Don't just buy a bike that will suit you for right now....buy one that will keep you happy even when you start becoming really solid on roads. You will have the bike longer than you will be a beginner.|| |
