|The two bicycles stolen today were found, IN A RELATIVE's HOME of one of the volunteer ambulance corps. Apparently, the doofus thought it would be easy to swipe the two bikes while paying his relative a visit.
Only a few scratches on the bikes!

|Several years ago I arrived home and oddly noticed one of the front railings was gone to this house where I was renting an apt. The railing had been loose for months.
When I entered the apt. my roommate was livid. She had locked her bike to the railing... railing and bike were both gone.
A few years later I had a road bike "wintering" in a locked storage "locker" (that was actually a small room in the basement to a different apt). I didn't have the bike locked since there was a security door to the basement, a locked door to the storage area, and my own lock on the door to my own storage space. The entire space had been ransacked, and of course the bike was gone. Most upsetting was the fact that it was likely that the perpetrator of this heinous crime against mankind had lived or was living in the building. (I needed a new bike anyway).
Of course neither of these stories has a happy ending.
Now, to my wife's disdain, my bike is sitting a few feet away from me in our LIVING ROOM... (hey, at least it doesn't share a bed with us ;) ) I do keep two other bikes "downstairs"- so I am able to make some compromises (but it doesn't help that she keeps BOTH of her bikes down there).

|At least your wife rides and seems to understand. It did NOT go over well when I suggested I keep my new bike in the dining room...|
