|Hey everyone -
I have a Giant TCR1 and I'm looking to put a Shimano flight deck on. I'm checking out Shimano's website and the compatibility section (http://bike.shimano.com/computer/chart.asp), as well as the specs on my bike (http://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/030.000.000/030.000.000.asp?lYear=2001&bikesection=8795&range=9&model=10372).
What I can't figure out is what shifter/harness I have to see if I can hook the flight deck right up or if I need additional parts. Can anyone help me?

|when determining flight deck compatibility. Its the shifters.
First of all FD is only compatible with late model Shimano 105 & above (I believe) shifters. If you look at your shifters, on the inside of the rubber cover (the side towards the stem), you either have No little rubber buttons, one on each shifter or two on the right shifter.
No rubber button = not flight deck compatible.
One or two is FD compatible. The two on one shifter is the older version, The one on each shifter is the current version. You need to get the harness that is compatible with the nuber or buttons on the cover.
Hope this helps.

|There are three possible harnesses, MTB, old STI, new STI... Oh, don't forget the wireless too...
My best suggestion is to call Performance... They should be able to help. Or go to a LBS that carries it...
Once you get past this little issue, the flight deck is the best computer ever!
