|How many of you commuted to work today? I actually found a route from North Boulder to Denver that didn't get me killed! 43 miles one way. Anyone else commute that doesn't regularly? How'd you like it? I discovered that I really missed commuting (I used to commute year round when I worked in Boulder). Might have to do it again soon before the days get too short.|

|I did! 23 miles in from Bellevue, TN to Nashville. I wanted to leave around 6 am...but it started drizzling which turned into a fullscale shower for about 50 minutes so I put on a pot of coffee and flipped the backseat of my Honda Odyssey into "tailgate" mode and just sat in the garage trying to outlast the rain. I did and it was a great commute although one hairy stretch of 4 lane (no shoulder) road was especially miserable as TDOT decided to strip the road so I got covered with gravel & dust for about 2 miles from the cars flying by at 55 mph.|

|I pretty much always ride in, at least when there's no snow on the ground, but my commute is just from louisville to boulder. I did see a lot more people than usual along the way though! I usually only see maybe 3-5 other riders, this morning I probably saw 15 or so.
I went for a tough ride last night after work, and my wife was teasing me that I'd have to drive today because I'd be too tired. How ironic would that be? :-)
What route did you take to denver? 43 miles each way is a pretty good ride!

|well the choices aren't all that great--either take mccaslin to indiana and ride through rocky flats (might be ok), ride 287 (way too busy), or take dillon road. i chose dillon road to washington to 88th ave...then to platte river trail (88th and colorado basically) which takes you all the way into denver. would not be too good during rush hour though i think since there are little to no shoulders and lots of traffic. i might throw the bike on the bus coming back...or possibly get a ride from someone who i met at the platte river trailhead.|

|I still wimp out on rainy days but I keep on saying I will toughen up and go for it. In the Norheast US there are not that many days you can commute if you only go on nice days.|

|I drive in on Monday morning and home on Friday night. When I wake up to rain...I'm SOL as my car is at work! Actually, I'm not sure how much I would even commute if I didn't do that...I never feel much like riding at 6:30am!|

|I live only 2 miles from work, but just didn't get around to biking in. Today I did and I think that I will do it often.

|My car is in the shop so I rode the 2.5 miles to work today. Everyone was cool, even on the stretch of narrow one land blacktop that cars have a hard time passing each other from different directions. Waiting for my fendered bike from a move, but the racing mount worked fine with backpack. Going to the grocery store on the way home, so I brought the U lock. Co-workers, people in elevators supportive, almost as if they'd like to bike to work too.
Foolish to drive ten minutes every day, for the car, for the environment, for my health. Plan on regular use of bike, using the car only once in awhile.

|I drove 2 bikes to work in my car, does that count? Road bike for lunch ride, 'cross bike for short-track race post work.
Normally I ride to work 3 or 4 days a week. Maybe I'm just being contrarian.
