Bike lust x 2(6 posts)

Having read the bike lust column it seems that there is an epedemic.
I have an almost identical condition. I am lusting for a C40, its on
my mind constantly. My racing days are over at least for the time being and I have difficulties justifying forking out the money just so I could ride it just for fitness. At the moment I am riding a Casati Challenge, an awesome bike in its own right, but not the best like the Colnago. Should I like the Nike add says just do it?
Advice welcome.

I agree, it must be something in the air.

I am thinking of Scapin EOS3... all black with the touch of red, simply beautiful! Went to a LBS and saw it dressed up (small frame though) with Chorus 10. Ahhh the dilemma!!!

This board, being populated almost exclusively by the most conservative investment counselors, will only suggest new bike purchases when they are absolutely necessary (and a good investment to boot).

There are many cool bikes out there. The C40 is one of them. Can you afford it? Beats me. Would you like it? Probably. Would you like it a lot? Probably.

You really just want us to facilitate, right? OK then...get it, buy it, pull the trigger. Scratching every itch is not good for you. Plus it looks bad in public. But sometimes...you just have to.

I thank its bad when I paid $850 for my car and want a bike 3 times as must.If you want it and can afford it buy just don't do it on credit.
Go beyond the lustSantaCruz

I never recommend against a bike purchase (assuming you can pay cash), but go beyond the lust. If you long for a C-40 just because you think it's pretty then think twice. But if a C-40 will ride smoother or faster or get you to ride more then absolutely go check out a C-40 and other carbon bikes and maybe some Ti and maybe some high-end steel.

Have fun!
