My heart felt like a jack hammer going off in my chest. My thighs had so much lactic acid in them that they, well can you say blow torch. Breath, can't catch it. YEEE HAAA!! Arse did'nt seem to bother me - go figure.

This is the best sport hands down. I am hooked. Crack -don't want it anymore, money who cares, feed the dog - he better learn how to hunt. What am I on you ask? I am on my bike. (I loved that comercial)

Just got my first road bike to replace b-ball as my cardio work out. My goal is to lose about 20lbs, that will put me at 190lbs with about 6% body fat. I will still lift weights 3-4 days a week but I am going to ride 3-4 as well, cycling different intensities. This will give me proper recovery while shedding fat and increasing VO2 uptake. My resting HR is 62 currently I will monitor it and see how far it goes down. I am 35, 6' 210, old athlete ready to start on the next athletic phase of my life.

This is a great site many of you have extensive knowledge on the sport of cycling and I look forward to the exchange of ideas and philosophy.
p.s. Newbie - naaa, neophyte - not, noobs - sounds like boobs, just new to the sport but not for long. See ya I'm going for a ride.

Best advice for a new rider is to abide by the same rules as the cars: stop at intersections, signal your intentions, etc., etc.

Welcome from one neophyte/newbie/new rider to another! Isn't it great? I haven't sweated this much and breathed this hard since I was rowing, and it's the best feeling ever. I feel like drivers must think I'm a crazy man 'cause of the giant, stupid grin on my face the whole time I'm riding.

Have a blast!

The first ride on my first bike involved training wheels. It is a great feeling when you can finally take them off, as you will soon learn.
