To my friend Mark Simmons. You will be dearly missed.

Mark was a marathon runner who had a passion for mountain biking. He was my mountain biking buddy. Whenever I'd want to go for a ride, he'd be there. His life ended last Thursday night by a drunk driver. A drunk tow truck driver with 2 previous convictions of driving while under the influence.

This was a non-cycling related accident, Mark was on foot. None the less, I feel the need to express my sorrows to the community that we both belonged to, the cycling community.

Goodbye to a good friend. You will be missed by all.

Note: Mark is in the centre wearing dark blue, I'm on the far right wearing grey.

Didn't know ya, Mark, but you will be missed. If you rode a bike, you were our friend.

"If you rode a bike, you were our friend"

It doesn't matter if you're on a BMX, MTB, road, bent, etc. If you share the same passion as I...I'll tip my hat to ya.

Loosing sporting companions seems especially hard. When you suffer together the bonds grow thick.

Organize a group ride in his memory. It'll be a nice time for you and his other friends to reflect and remember.

Hang in there.

As a cyclist, you will be missed by our entire community.
Sorry for your loss. May the drunk that did it never sleep another night without nightmares of his horrendous deed.
We lost a friend in my club, and have a memorial ride for him nmPaul

This past Saturday, a group of Mark's friends got together for a ride in Mark's rememberance.

From left to right (Sepanta Dorri, Keith Marshall, Reg Mohammed, Andrew Waugh and myself, Fern Amorim).

Rest in peace Mark. Thanks for the memories.
