|To all you veterans out there. I'm planning on getting some new wheels. I'm looking for light. Looking at Mavic Open Pro and Record. Pros/cons? alternatives? best prices? Also my casette. I've got chorus 9 on my current wheels. will only campy casettes work with campy? where to buy 9 now? Thanks

|Thats what I've got on my current ride Open Pro/Record hubs. I weighed them up against a buddies Ksyriums and they were an ounce lighter and about 300 bucks cheaper. The only negative is that several people have reported clicking sounds. You can do a search and find plenty of threads on this. I have 10k on mine and no clicks.
As for a the cassette I'm exactly sure what your asking. The a Chorus 9 spd cassette will fit on a 9 spd Record hub. You can find them from Excel, Branford and many others and any LBS worth their salt can get them.

|Also, How should I get these laced? I weigh 175. 28,32,36, radial 2x 3x?|

|I'm 145 and have 28F 32R. At 175 you should be fine with that set up. If I remember correctly radial lacing is not reccomended and voids the warranty on Campy hubs.|

|This clicking noise described...could it be the fault of the wheel builder in some way? Maybe a burr or something not taken off? Poor spoke tension? Or maybe I'm just not heavy enough to make the clicking happen, or I don't have enough miles in my wheels yet. Mine are only ten months old. They are quiet as can be when I can hear myself think (much big bubba truck traffic out here).|

|I have the OP's..had the clicking noise. Check past posts and it gives the details on how to get rid of it. Easy. Love this set of wheels.|

|Shimano cassettes are likely, apparently, to work with Campy. the shifting may be perfect, or it may not.
but you can probably get 9-speed cassettes. give Danny a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org (shameless plug). I got some campy stuff from him; prices were good. he's honest.

|You might be able to get S to shift OK with Campy and vice versa, but you can't put the cogs on the other guy's hub. The spline pattern is different. And you wouldn't want to swap (even if you could) if you had a Campy drive train/shifters.|| |
