"Share the road" stickers ?PatM

I saw a bumper sticker on a car about a week ago that said something like "Share the road with Bicycles", I thought it was a pretty good idea. I am not one to have stickers all over my car promoting this or that, but it seems like there has been a lot of posts of people getting hit. There is a similar campaign with motorcycles "Motorcycles are everywhere", anybody know if that helped ?
How many posters have similar stickers on their cars ?
Do you think its a good idea ?
The only link that I found to a place that sells them is the Bicycle coalition of Maine - down the bottom of the page

A good idea, yes...mlester

...but also reading bumper stickers in yet another distraction from the road and that is what needs to be avoided.

Yup, have to start doing a bit more distance riding to feel ready, haven't been able to get in any rides over 72 miles. I usually have done at least one solo century by now, but with the weather and family stuff it just has not happened. I also usually take two weeks completely off in July, when I am on vacation in Maine, but not this year, this year I will be riding some hills in the Sebago lakes area - should be fun. Hopefully in August I will be able to get one "practice" century in. The other change this year is that I am doing my local Wed night training crit, 33 miles at 24mph(CAT 3,4,5) I will see how that helps or hurts me. How about yourself - are you ready for this year are you doing anything different ? Is your buddy who did his/her first last year ready for another ?

Good to hear you are racing, that's great. I've got to get serious about that, myself, more than just the Tuesday TTs and the occasional "citizens" race.
I did the MS 150 two weekends ago, it was most excellent, and we've cranked out several long rides in the past two months, but so far no centuries. My objective is to continue with weekly mileage totals of 150+ and get at least 2-3 centuries in before end August. My friend Mike, the century newbie on last year's TFCE, has been riding very consistently this season and did the MS with me, he's definitely ready for a faster TFCE this season. Let's check in again closer to the event, perhaps this time we can actually say hello in person! Tailwinds - Eric

Not so sure I am racing as just hanging on - but its a fun group, and since its a training race its good for old begineers like myself to get the heart rate up there. If you have to take a rest lap no problem, to win the thing is only three bucks so like the ref says at the begining what's more important three dollars or a two-thousand dollar bike, you decide. I think whats been killing me more is the weather, I think it was warmer in January than April ! Anyway hope your summer goes smooth and hopefully see in you Sept. ! - Pat

Marin County Bicycle Coaltion has "Share the Road" Bumper Stickers for sale at many of its functions.

San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is currently sponsoring a "Coexist" Campaign with the City of San Francisco.

Coming in July and August: Bus Shelter Ads promoting bike awareness and courtesy. (San Francisco Ads tend to be a little edgier than other parts of the country).

I recognize those faces, but those are certainly not the words coming from MY mouth when I make them! ;)

Yeah, not my statements or my clothing, for that matter. But those are funny ads with a good message!

I had a "Share the Road with Bicycles" bumper sticker from the Cascade Bicycle Club in Seattle. I'm not sure if they make them anymore. I stuck it on a wall in the garage next to my workstand, but not on a car.
If I had more I'd mail them out to whoever wanted them. I didn't grab a lot because I knew I'd be tempted to affix them to cars that pis*ed me off in traffic or something stupid.
Got mine free at Performance... nmspyderman
