It depends on which hood shape, shifting mechanism, etc., YOU prefer. I have a 9 sp Campy Chorus equipped bike and a DA\Ultegra mixed bike and I like the Shimano stuff better. Shimano fits my hands better and I like the shift procedure better. Also, it's easier to bum parts\wheels etc., at races (centuries, charity rides) if you have a Shimano bike. If adjusted\lubed properly, they shift pretty much the same, minor, trival differences that are overhyped at every opportunity on various message boards by fanatics on both sides. You can't go wrong with either one, try bikes with both setups and make your decision based upon your preference.
I'd keep my Ultegra 8. Who needs 10 cogs? (nm)cory
