I just broke a spoke in my rear Ksyrium.

I saw it happen once.Sintesi

A series of questions:

How do you think it happened?

Did it break near the hub?

Could you ride it home?

How are you going to fix it?

The one I saw broke near the hub.

I think it was fatigue after over 10K miles on bad roads under a 185lbs body.

It broke near the hub.

I just opened up the calipers and were able to ride home

I am going to get a new spoke/nipple, install it and true the wheel.

Well I'm truly sorry to hear you broke a spoke because I ride Ks as well and weigh almost as much as you. The fellow I saw was probably around 200lbs. Apparently these wheels aren't as bomber as people claim.

When you replace the spoke be sure to use blue loctite at the nipple as it tends to loosen. This is what I remember grzy saying anyway. Good luck.

Happy B-day to your wife, BK.

THis is REALLY weird...Biking Viking was my old "handle" before I lost my password and had to upgrade to BikeViking. I thought someone was getting ready to flame on in my (albeit old) name

...board on MTBR, which I've been frequenting since November 2000. I registered as Biking Viking here, once registration opened. I wonder how you were able to register, too. Even if you've lost your password, the handle should be blocked...
