| question for fellow posers | elviento Jun 15, 2002 9:19 PM | | Do you machine dry your pro team jerseys/shorts? I just did but was wondering if that significantly affects the durability of the clothes. |

| The heat will | coonass Jun 16, 2002 4:29 AM | | break-down the elasticity of the spandex material (& chamois and leg-gripper rubber) ....life of the fabric will depend on how often you wash the item and how hot you dry it; but you will definitely not get full use and the shorts will begin to look as though they're a couple of sizes too big. I wash mine in cold water, spin dry, then dry on rack....I have shorts that are >5yo and still look great...(I have about 8 pair that rotate) I can also recommend Cafe Suds (Branford Bike)for washing....good stuff.

| re: question for fellow posers | B2 Jun 16, 2002 8:50 AM | | Heck - they're almost dry after the washing machine finishes the spin cycle. Just hang 'em up out of the washer and they'll be dry in a couple hours (shorts a little longer).
Occasionally some things get thrown in the dryer accidentally. Haven't noticed any detrimental affects so far.
