|His life is a movie. If you did make a movie out of it,and not know the story, no one would believe it. The movie is still being written. The latest installment begins July 6.
Bigger question. Who would play Lance?
Jun 14, 2002 5:22 AM
|The March issue of Bicycle Magazine had a short blurb in which they picked Corin Nemic (the guy who used to play in Parker Lewis Can't Lose, if you remember that show from a few years back). They had a picture of him that looked eerily like Lance. On looks alone, he's the best pick I've seen.|

|They were proposing a TV movie in 99.||Sintesi|
Jun 14, 2002 6:01 AM
|But LA and Co. said no because they were holding out for a full blown big-budget movie deal. Now that idea is pretty much shelved last I heard. I think it will get made eventually but a lot will depend on how the LA story ends up.|

|Actually, it probably is premature at this point to make a movie. After all, the LA story is far from complete (hopefully). It should probably wait at least another five years.|

|Any sort of hollywood movie would only go thru his cancer and into either his first cycling victory afterward, or MAYBE his first Tour win. But if you want drama, the stages following Fabio Casartelli's death would make great movie magic. I can just see the parting shot as it fades to the credits -- full-screen shot of the statue in tribute to Fabio, with the cyclists all gathered around it (happened the following year, as I remember).|

|no way...simeone, drug scandals, cancer survivor, podium chicks, action scene's, comeback form against the odds, patriotic subject matter (us vs. them)....
hollywood has made bigger movies over far less worthy material. but then again great stories tend to slip the system as no-one was interested in my cecille b de mille style bio-pic. something about censors......and many mentions of what a failure Caligula was....
|Robin Williams will probably want a part in it.. nm||elviento|

|I read once in "TV Guide" that a television movie was being discussed. It was not going to fly because Lance wanted 2 million dollars for the rights to his own story. lance is right, it's certainly NOT about the bike...|| |
