Orbea Bikes - EXCL8Rhulksmash

Hi, does anyone own or has ridden or has even heard of Orbea bikes? I'm looking into buying one because of the great deal I can score one for. Its the EXCL8R model possibly built with campy components. Any opinions? It seems like a pretty good euro bike even though it's hardly know around the US. All the UK sites seem to stock them in all flavors. Thanks all.

Where have you seen them? I mean which web sites. I'd like to check them out too. I've heard lots of good things about them.

Don't know if you have Wheels In Motion chains where you live (i'm in n. texas) but they now carry Orbea. Some REAALLY cool frames. What's more, you can chose practically ANY frame in one of 10 or more color schemes. very nice to have that option even at the low end. and for that custom look for like $35 more they'll put your name on the top tube. i've been looking at them a bit. there's an excl8r on Ebay right now.

i think they start at about $600 new for a frame/carbon fork (have 3 or 4 choices on forks too)

Thanks. Yeah, I've been looking on Orbea's site and there's a little info, but not much on the paint jobs. The only local shop around me that stocks them is in CT, about two hours away, but I'm looking at a deal out of Colorado through a friend of a friend. I think it's a "what we have in stock right now" deal, so options are low, so I'll just have to settle for ride quality.

There seem to be a lot of options on the paint jobs on the site. And some very nifty ones too.
check their US distributor...JS Haiku Shop

actually, i called them a few weeks back...*very* personable. if i understand it correctly, the distributor is owned/run by a Little Rock (AR) LBS owner. here's the info:

some of the guys on our club rides are talking about making a day of the trip over to oogle frames in the warehouse. it's only a 2-hour drive from tha hizzo. they were very helpful and receptive on the phone when i called.
