Bike give awayDougSloan

Well, just pretend :-)

Someone is going to give you a complete bike. It's free, and taxes paid, too. You can have anything you want, equiped any way you want it. However, this will be your only bike for the next 5 years, and you cannot sell it.

What do you want?

(It is officially "stupid poll Friday", isn't it?)
thanks Doug, work was getting kinda boringlonefrontranger

besides, you know what I want anyway, right?

C-40, with Campy Record 10 and LEW Sydneys. Oh, wait I forgot the important part: LX-11 color scheme!

Even my 1980 Bianchi Rekord?

For me, it would be like choosing among my children (if I had several); I'd probably stick with the Colnago as it sits right now, though, C40 Geo, Record, Kestrel carbon bars, Zipp 303's, SLR saddle, Look 206. I might want the Ksyriums or Nucleons instead of the Zipp's for durability, though.

five years. I would love to have a Merckx Corsa Extra (he made them for the 7-11 team, but for me, nix the 7-11 paint job). The best mix of tubes ever and Eddy's touch for details.
Hey Doug, can I keep my other bikes and add this one ---five years is a long time.
I forgot Campy C-Record w/ Delta brakes, Shamal wheels nmDjudd

Calfee Dragonfly with red to natural fade paint, full Record group including carbon crankset, Zipp303's, USE carbon post, Cinelli Ram bars and I'll supply my own saddle(Specialized S-Works).
My choice as well. A De Rosa King might edge it out! -nmTig

The DR King seems quite high on many people's lust list. I am just wondering how this particular frame rides. I don't think I have seen any review on this frame anywhere. Has anyone ridden it? It does look pretty cool, though.
pretty coolDougSloan

I've not ridden one, but I've seen/held one in a bike shop. They look very high tech. They aren't quite as light as advertised, though. The shop said that one was around 2.5 pounds for a 55, I think.

I see the smaller sizes are sloping. I still can't quite get used to that, and on a bike that expensive, it needs to be perfect (in my mind).

Custom fit, road rides, off-road and commute. Everything I could want (except multiple bicycles).

And a Lepper Voyager saddle. I'm starting to like that more and more.

Harley Davidson Softtail Deuce in Maroon and Black. I would take the feul injected model. But if you are talking about non-motorbikes, I would like to try the ferrari edition Colonago, or a c-40 built w/campy record 10

A Seven Axiom. with Record 10 (DA cranks and BB - big fan of the splined interface). Zepp stem and Kestrel bars. an Ouzo Pro Aero fork. SLR saddle, USE titanium post. Speedplay X1s. and you never said it could only have one set of wheels, so a set of Ksyriums for training, a set of Zipp 303s for crits and hills, and a set of 404s for the flatter courses and TTs.
Ooohhh, pretty close to what I'd get .Leisure

Limiting the field to road bikes of course, I'd get my Axiom with the FSA carbon cranks in ISIS with their new Ti-axled BB, stick with the Seven/Woundup fork (now with lifetime warranty), and build an imaginary wheelset that somehow combines Hugi hubs and Spinergy vectran spokes in a 2x format. Paint job would have glossy black areas integrated with the natural Ti.

It took me about a year of research until I decided on my Master X-light. Off the top of my head, I'm happy with my Master X-Light, I'd go full Campy Record with Mavic Ksyrium wheels. Robobank LX23 color scheme I guess, same as I have now..it fits and I like the ride of steel..

... but with a fixed/singlespeed flip-flop rear wheel, and as much vintage Campy running gear as fits. Maybe a Brooks saddle, too.

After 5 years, they'll have to KILL me to get it back! I'll NEVER sell it!
