Anyone have a Titus Drop-U?RandyW

Only one review, and a search only came up with a couple of mentions of this bike. I'm considering purchasing the frame, and would love to hear opinions from people who actually have one. Pictures of colors other than the gold would certainly be a bonus. Thanks!
I was interested in purchasing oneJS

But they couldn't do the custom things I wanted. I've seen plenty of their MTB's up close and they do reallllly nice work, some of the nicest I've seen.

they seem like a very good company, but they seem to be experiencing some growing pains. I believe this frame is farmed out to Anodizing Inc. in Portland (who also builds frames for Santa Cruz, Ellesworth, etc.). Titus is doing a big recall of one of their FS mtb frames also build by Anodizing Inc., and they seemed to be a bit overwhelmed at the moment from a customer service perspective. Look under "what bike to buy" over at mtbr.com and there are many threads on this--in fact the owner or manager of Titus posted over there a few times about it. Anyway, if I was looking for a light AL compact road frame, the Drop-U would be at the top of my list. Contact hammerheadbikes.com for a good price. Good luck.

Thanks gtx. I'm actually more from the mtb side, and even had a Racer X for a year (just sold it due to being a touch small.) I am familiar with the problems Titus has had with the rear swingarms on the Loco-Motos, but I didn't know that Anodizing Inc was making the Drop-U. I sort of took from Chris' letter on one of the mtbr.com boards that the Loco rear triangle was the only part they had taken out of house for production, and that it was a mistake that they weren't going to repeat, more or less. Interesting.

I could be wrong about Anodizing building the frame. I just sort of assumed from the price... Also thought the Loco Motos were breaking somwhere around the headtube, but I could be wrong there, too. I guess this is the way rumors start. ;) Anyway, very cool looking bike. Please report back if you get one.
