On OLN during the last stage of the Giro, Phil mentioned that there were rumours or articles written saying SuperMario and Acque e Sapone would show up for the USPRO on Sunday. It may have been hearsay, but they at least mentioned it. Anyone heard anything more recently about it or is it just bunk? BTW, I can't wait until this weekend. I'll get a chance to see if my anvil-like climbing abilities can take me up "The Wall."

There's plenty of hills around that can just as easily tear your lungs out...you don't have to do it in Manayunk necesarily ;)

I'm from the Northern Virginia area. For me, each climb is an adventure and there are some around Arlington, Va. that give me fits. I was at USPRO last year (with my wife, who tells me once we get there "you could have brought your bike to ride the route — I wouldn't mind") and saw many of the hilly areas surrounding Philly. If I lived there I would either:

a. be a much better climber
or
b. spend a lot of time taking naps on the side of the road after cracking mid-way through the climb.

But my motto for climbing is "never get off the bike." So no matter how slowly I climb and how long it takes me, if I make it without dismounting, I've won. I laugh at the hill's inability to defeat me on the descent. (And if there is another climb instead, I just cry)

team on Saturday. Found it in the paper the other day. This Saturday for $10 you can ride 25 miles with the Prime Alliance team. Info said Registration 7-8 am and the ride starts at 8:30. Supposedly, pictures/autographs afterwards.
Starts at the First Union bank behind JCPenneys at the King of Prussia Mall. Also, I think you can register Friday night at the booth outside Eckard drugs in the Mall.
I don't have any affiliation, just thought I'd pass along the information. I plan on showing up and just wondered if any oher RBR folks had heard about it or planned on going.

Supposedly if you meet at the front of the art museum near the gate to west river drive at 7 theyre is an informal race/ride on the route. It's bound to give you an idea of what the race is really like, kind of. I'll be there, you can get a picture of me

Yes you can ride the route startig @ 0645, but there is a required $35.00 donation to the American Cancer Soc. ( I think) I figure if I can't make it up "the Wall" I'll stop & have a great seat to watch the pro's do it :)
