The ones that stop you dead in your tracks. I'll take hills over headwinds anyday.

* Rude drivers
* Unforeseen mechanical problems - they come in bunches
* Rude pedestrians. Yesterday, some fat, ugly, chain smoking woman called me a "queer". ??? Yelled this at me even AFTER I had waved and said "good morning" I guess she didn't like my shorts.
* Tendonititis. Or: overuse injuries. We all get'em. More now that I'm 40

I wouldn't miss a thing.

Those hills with the great views that make me strong.
The bad road surfaces that keep my off road skills fresh.
The wind that I know will soon change or end.
Those cold crisp winter days with beautiful ice and snow everywhere.
Those wet spring days that will soon make the flowers green.
Those SUVs that help pay for the roads I love to use.
City traffic that brings the Road Warrior out in me.
All them bugs that the beautiful birds love to eat.
knowing there is a bike shop nearby if needed.
Those wounds and scars from great riding-can't wait to get more.
Flats to keep me humble and give me a chance to rest.
Cyclists-anytime, anywhere supporting my lifestyle.

Still don't understand that John Eustice thing though.
LOL... forever the optimist, you are. :-)Spinchick

isn't he that guy that co-commentated on some of the espn cycling coverage, and is also doing some of the oln one-off events (the recent housatonic classic)?

My worst day on a bike is still better than my best day doing just about anything else.

Gotta say that I agree with all of'em except for hills and gravity,
although the thing that I dispise most is sticking to the sheets the day after loosing a good patch of skin.

Yes, I do a certain amount of my riding on MUTS. I admit it. We have some good ones around here that are relatively empty during commuting hours (when some of the roadways are hell), and they offer pretty good routes out-of-town for weekend rides (and aren't even that bad then, if you time it right).

But Rollerbladers happen. Now--as in so many things--the real experts are often the least trouble, being more aware of their surroundings and quicker to make reasonable adjustments to keep everyone running smoothly. But my rough impression is that about 90% of the bladers out there: (a) stink, and (b) couldn't give a crap about sharing the trail; they take the whole damn trail, appear unable to hold a line to save their lives, and have the tunes cranked up on their headphones so as to make them even more oblivious to their surroundings than they usually are.

The thing that ticks me off are other riders who won't acknowledge a wave or hello as you pass.I think that we should have a little more courtesy and respect for each other while we are out there.Otherwise how can we expect to have others show us any.

Things that I hate are:
*Flat tires.
*Obnoxious drivers.
*Obnoxious cyclists who give the rest of us a bad name/image.
*The high $ of components.
