anyone dealt with abicibikes recently?weiwentg

I placed an order two weeks ago. card was charged, but the damn thing hasn't got here yet. according to their website, it hasn't even been shipped yet. and no one at the company is answering the phone. should I be worried?

Placed an order on May 14th, emailed with a change that same day, they emailed me back on May 16th saying that it had already shipped ? Emailed them on May 29th about a tracking number, and they called me back, saying that it had not shipped - so I asked about getting the change I wanted and reminded him that he said that it already shipped. He sounded confused and said he would get back to me, emailed again last night - nothing yet. I don't want to slam them and the prices are great but come on.
PS my order status still says Ordered and my card has been charged and have received two orders from Performance in the meantime !

Short answer is: I'd be worried. Is there no answering machine on their phone? I would call my credit card company ASAP to cancel the charge. Also I would send a registered letter to the company.

which answered me yesterday and all of today, so far. thing is, I and some others have dealt with them before. the owner even remembered me from last time.

I left a message just now - we will see how long it takes to call back. When I sent my email on Wed. he called me back within an hour - strange ? How many times have you delt with them - how long does it usually take to get your stuff ?

dealt with them once. heard of some others dealing with them - no one got screwed. the last time, I got my stuff quite promptly - just a seatpost, actually.
before the memorial day weekend, the owner said the shipping staff would be back on Tuesday. I only started calling Thursday.

owner is in Canada, and he got back to me. his shipping guys apparently neglected to write my apartment number down.

Now, I assume you are talking about www.abicibikes.com, seller and manufacturer of Abici framesets. I ordered a frame from them about a year ago, and I love it. They are a little chaotic with the shipping and what not, though it came right quickly. They didn't send me the proper barrel adjusters and such, but after an email or two they 2-dayed the parts to me. I would not be worried if I were you, so long as we are talking about the same company. Good luck.

I had problems- late, missing headset and barrel adjusters and then I had to keep calling to get my card reinbersed for the headset. Finally they did it all and the bike is great but the guy on the phone(who acts so friendly and calls me dude) is a spaceman.
They are boneheads, but they don't always get it right...sprockets2

as I was shorted in an order in January and they subsequently have not completed the order in spite of a multitude of gentle reminders from me.

I have always believed that in dealing with vendors what matters most is NOT that x many people can say that they had no problems, but that there were few if any people complaining, and that those few complaints were resolved quickly and with apologies.

Abici gives me the impression that they don't have a good infrastructure, don't have good management on the marketing/sales side, and have poorly trained people in key positions. I won't buy from them again.
