Are any UK riders going to do the 'Phil and
friends ride' this year. It looks like a right
corker. 96 miles (and 69 shorter route) covering
the old Milk race circuit of the late 80's. Even
gets in the rather nice climb of Holme Moss.
Phil Ligget will be riding it himself, so we
well get a chance to see the legend in the flesh.

Cheers
Paul

Look on the Audax UK website (http://www.audax.uk.net/cal/index.htm), and look for the 2 entries for Stannington on Aug 18.

Gives the price (7.50 UKP) plus contact details (basically the CTC in Godalming).

Looks like the 2 rides are being run as audax events this year. Fortunately there's no requirement for mudguards though.

here are the full details, along
with a link to maps showing climb
gradients and heights. Should be
quite a hard ride.

I think I'm doing the tour of the surrey hills that day, a tough ride, but probably not up to peak district gradients.

I live here and didn't know that was that day - I think, given the 'on the back doorstep' nature of the Surrey ride - I may be in for that one in preference. Sounds like MJ's bag too.
